Mobile communications are becoming more and more internet-oriented. For advanced users, communication on social networks from a mobile phone is no less familiar than regular calls or SMS messages.
Moreover, unlimited tariff options, becoming massive Wi-Fi, the popularization of smartphones and the existing set of applications for social networks are literally pushing people into “mobile sociality”.
All the variety of “social” applications can be divided into two large groups. The first one includes official applications developed by a particular social network, and the second includes third-party applications. The programs of mobile phone manufacturers stand somewhat apart, and most of them are just a shortcut to access a mobile social network site, although there are some very functional products.
Official Apps
Among mobile platforms, iOS and Android are the most fortunate in terms of the release of official client applications for social networks, for which all major social networks have released their own applications. Also, the plans of the official developers usually include the creation of client applications for Windows Phone 7. But other platforms are somewhat less fortunate. However, this is not surprising – the listed platforms are actively developing, and the majority of their users are relatively actively using the Internet from their mobile devices.
